Reading groups

If you want to teach your children to read, then you can put them into reading groups by first testing them to see how well they can read to see what reading group they're in.  This is how you can tell what reading group they're in.  And it will be on the bottom.  

If they can read all sight words, they should be in reading group 1.  In reading group 1, you should teach them how to read other words other than sight words.  If they can read all sight words and just some other words that aren't sight words, then they should be in reading group 2.  In reading group 2, you should teach them how to read longer words.  So that they can read whole books!  If they can read whole books without needing any help, then they are in reading group 3.  In reading group 3, you teach them how to read not just other really really big words, you teach them how to read with word solving superheroes, which I will talk about in a minute.  But you teach them how to read chapter books.  And the word solving super heroes are:

Eagle eye -- which if you don't know a word, then you can look at the pictures to see what it might be.

Lips the Fish -- If you don't know what a word is, then say the first sound and read to the end of the sentence.  Then try reading the word again.  

Stretchy Snake -- If you don't know the word, try stretching out the sounds.  

Chunky Monkey -- Try finding little chunks of a word that you don't know and those chunks should be sight words you can read.  

Trying Lion -- If you try all the reading strategies and none of the word, use helpful kangaroo, the last reading strategy.  

Helpful Kangaroo -- Ask for help if you just don't know the word after trying the reading strategies.  

Now you know how to teach your child how to read!

How to potty train babies

This post will help your kids to learn to go on the potty!

First, even if they still have a diaper, you should ask them, "do you want to try going on the potty?".  Then, if they do pee you can reward them, with maybe a small piece of graham cracker, or any other treat you might want to give them.

They have to do it at least three times and if they do do it three times you can buy undies for them and see if they'll wear them.  (I think that's all of it.  I didn't really have this whole post planned yet).  And if they do wear them, they've been potty trained, I think!

The Classroom

Here is how to make your baby a classroom to teach in.  

What you will need:
some toys for playtime (you may want to have your child dig bones up in a digging kit so that you can teach your baby about the bones)

some other things that are interesting so that you can do studying time with them

some flashcards to teach him his words

and any other thing that you think would be good for teaching because I don't think I got all the things that I have in my classroom!

The Turtle

If you have one of these turtles, you can try getting your baby to click the "I love you" button on it.  My baby wouldn't cooperate.  But maybe your baby would do the opposite of that and actually would cooperate.

Get your baby to sit on the turtle.  And read him a story or two to get him settled.  Then once you've got him settled, pull the straps back and forth (if you don't have the straps on it, you can just pull the turtle).  You could do the pulling on the turtle for maybe a free time activity.

Teaching with ornaments!

You could teach with any ornament that you feel safe with your baby holding, feeling, looking at, and studying.  The best idea is to put it under a light and show your kid if it has sparkles.  You could show them if it has a letter on it and what color it is.  Like if it blue with silver sparkles or if it is red with red sparkles.  You can also say this ornament is made with cinnamon dough (I'm just calling it cinnamon dough).  And you can tell your baby if it is a star or a square.  You can just tell them what shape it is and what shape it isn't.

Give your friend a tour!

If you want to give your friend a tour of how to teach kids how to learn, you can tell them what you've learned from my posts.  You can show them what kids can study, what you can teach kids to draw on, and what they can not draw on.  This will probably build their skills.

How to Make a Piece of Paper That Tells About Space

So, if you want to make a piece of paper that tells about space, you will need:

a pencil

a piece of paper

How you do it will be on the bottom.

So what you do is...you draw planets you know about and stuff like that.  (You can also copy me if you want.)  And then you're done!  Ta-da!!
