If you want to give your friend a tour of how to teach kids how to learn, you can tell them what you've learned from my posts. You can show them what kids can study, what you can teach kids to draw on, and what they can not draw on. This will probably build their skills.
I like that you include the idea to teach kids what they can NOT draw on. My kids have trouble with this sometimes, and it is a great reminder. Things MY kids are not allowed to draw on include: the table, their skin, the carpet, the dog, the walls. I remember when I was a kid, I drew all over my moms favorite purse. She was not very happy with me.
